The fight for the famous yellow jersey commences on Friday with the start of the 2022 Tour de France.
Geraint Thomas will lead the Ineos Grenadiers in his pursuit of a second Tour crown against the fearsome dominance of Slovenia’s Tadej Pogacar.
Chris Froome is also among the riders ahead of the Grand Depart in Copenhagen but the man to beat is UAE Team Emirates leader Pogacar, who won in 2020 and 2021 and is still only 23 years old.

Tour de France 2022 route
The Danish capital of Copenhagen will host the Grand Depart with two flat stages through Denmark before the Tour heads to northern France and Belgium.
The route then heads down France’s eastern border to the Alps for a series of mountainous stages that dip into Switzerland in its second week.
A series of long, flatter stages across southern France to the Pyrenees make up the majority of the third week before a fresh set of mountain stages and the traditional finish in Paris.
