DRIVERS are facing long delays ahead of rush hour amid motorway closures due to a vehicle fire and a previous overturned lorry.

One lane has been closed on the M11 northbound in Essex due to a vehicle fire approaching junction six for the M25.

This is just before the scene of an overturned lorry which police were called to after 10am this morning.

The driver was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

The M11 in Essex remains closed northbound between within junction six due to this earlier incident, with the link road from the M25 anticlockwise to the M11 also closed.

The link road from the M25 clockwise onto the M11 northbound remains open.

As a result, drivers are experiencing delays back to Loughton and there is also slow traffic on the M25.
