Tragedy as boy, 17, dies in motorbike crash

A boy aged 17 has tragically died after a crash between a motorbike and a car, police have revealed.

The teenager was riding a Lexmoto Diablo 125 motorbike that was involved in a crash with a Toyota Yaris in a Lancashire village on Wednesday.

He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

But in an update today - Friday - police have sadly confirmed that he's now passed away. Police said his family are being offered specialist support as a major investigation gets underway.

The boy hasn't been named and there's been no reports from police of any other injuries, reports Lancs Live.

In a statement, Lancashire Police said: "We were called to a report of a collision between a Toyota Aygo and a Lexmoto Diablo 125 motorbike on Garstang Road in Claughton on Brock at 2.05pm on April 10. Very sadly, the rider of the motorbike, a 17-year-old boy, later died in hospital.

"His loved ones are aware and are being supported by specially trained officers."

Sergeant Phil Baxendale, of the force's Roads Policing Unit said: "First and foremost, my thoughts remain with the loved ones of the rider of the motorbike at this incredibly distressing time. We are continuing to appeal for witnesses, and any dashcam or CCTV footage you have of Garstang Road around the time of the collision.

"If you are able to assist our enquiries, please get in touch."
