Tragedy as man, 45, dies after being pulled from River Aire

A man who was pulled from the river at Saltaire, Bradford, on Saturday afternoon has sadly died in hospital.

The 45-year-old man was reportedly pulled from the River Aire near to The Boathouse pub beside Roberts Park, at around 2pm. Firefighters, police and paramedics attended the scene.

Initially, West Yorkshire Police said the man's death was being treated as 'unexplained' while an investigation continued. Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.

Today, a force spokesman issued an update on the investigation, saying: "The death of the man in the river at Saltaire is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course."

Yorkshire Ambulance Service said it was called by the fire service at 2.20pm to reports of a man in the water. They took one person to Bradford Royal Infirmary. Fire crews from Bradford and Bingley attended the scene and pulled the man from the river.
