Tragedy as man dies in busy Scots tourist town after emergency services scramble to scene

Police have confirmed that a man tragically died on Saturday afternoon South Queensferry despite a prompt emergency service response.

Multiple police cars were seen at The Lorn in the popular Scots tourist town with ambulance staff also present after they were alerted to reports at 3.20pm on May 11 of a man who had taken unwell in Hill Court.

Police were called to assist paramedics but despite their best efforts, the man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland said there are no suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.20pm on Saturday, 11 May, police were called to assist ambulance after a man took unwell in Hill Court, South Queensferry.

“Emergency services attended and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal."
