Tragedy as man dies in Sheffield house fire

A man has died after a fire broke out at a Sheffield home.

At midnight on Monday, April 29, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue were called out following reports of a fire at property in Manor Oaks Gardens in the Park Hill area of the city.

A man in his 50s died as a result of the blaze. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “A man in his 50s has sadly died following a house fire on Manor Oaks Gardens, Sheffield after a call was received at midnight on Monday, April 29.

“Two hose reels were used to extinguish the fire and firefighters left the scene shortly after 1.34am. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.”
