A much-loved son tragically died after 'it all became too much to handle', his loved ones say. Lee Malin, described as a 'good kid', died after struggling to cope with his mum's life-threatening illness.

Now, after his death, family and friends are trying to raise money for his funeral. They launched a GoFundMe page, with a target of £3,000 to help his mum now "he is no longer with us." Urging people to donate, they wrote: "RIP Malin, gone but never forgotten."

Several donors had already raised £1,710 by Thursday afternoon (April 18). The page read: "Everyone who knew Lee knows he was a good kid! Always loved to laugh and be around people!

"Lee never had the best luck in life and the main thing that kept him going was the love for his mother, sadly she has been diagnosed with a life threatening illness and we believe it all became too much for lee to handle…

"Please can you donate towards the funeral as it’s the least the we can do for his mom now he is no longer with us ;( No donation too little anything is appreciated RIP MALIN GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN!!"

Sharing a donation and tribute in the words of support, Alex Downes wrote: "Lee was a great man, he made everyone's lives so much more happier when he was a part of it. He is going to be incredibly missed by everyone that knew him, God rest his soul in eternal paradise. Gbnf"
