Trailcam Shows Quail Ferociously Defending Eggs From Hungry Snakes

A brave mama quail was seen defending her eggs from two hungry snakes in Tucson, Arizona, in mid-April, footage shows.

According to TikTok user @tresssawtucsonrealtor, the trailcam video shows a Gambel’s quail successfully fighting off a snake trying to eat her 18 eggs on April 17, but unable to fend off another snake the very next day. She told Storyful that the snake came to the nest, ate 12 eggs, and exhausted the mama quail.
