Cat Who Controls Pests At Train Station Now Has Her Own High-Vis Jacket
A cat who patrols Huddersfield station in search of pests can now boast that she’s an official part of the team.
Felix is a permanent fixture on the platforms as she keeps them clear of rats and mice and now has her very own high-vis jacket and name badge.
Her badge gives her the full title of ‘Senior Pest Controller’ and she looks every inch an official TransPennine Express employee - albeit a cute and furry one.
Promotion: Felix is now the Senior Pest Controller at Huddersfield Station (Facebook/Felix the Huddersfield Station Cat)
Felix has been patrolling Huddersfield station in West Yorkshire since she was just a nine-week-old kitten in 2011 and both commuters and staff have grown incredibly fond of her.
With her very own cat flap at the ticket barrier and a Facebook page dedicated to her, Felix has become something of a celebrity.

So it was only right that she was rewarded for all her hard work by being given the jacket to show she is as much a part of the station as any other staff member.
Felix told her Facebook followers (she can type too - genius) that she had been given her new senior role in “recognition of what I’ve been doing for nearly five years”.
We hope she got a pay rise, too.
