Trains have been running at reduced speeds on Friday afternoon which is causing delays for passengers.

Chiltern Railways announced at around 3.45pm that a fault with the signalling system is causing delays near Banbury.

Trains heading towards the West Midlands are slow-moving as a result of the signalling fault between Banbury and Leamington Spa.

The train operator has apologised for any disruption caused.

A statement from Chiltern Railways said: "Due to a fault with the signalling system between Banbury and Leamington Spa trains have to run at reduced speed on the line towards the West Midlands.

"Train services running through these stations may be delayed by 10 minutes We apologise if your journey has been impacted."

It comes as Chiltern Railways said services are expected to be "very busy" on Friday evening due to global singer Taylor Swift performing at Wembley Stadium in London.

Queues are in operation for those heading to the capital by trains.

An amended timetable is also in operation ahead of the event which can be found on the Chiltern Railways website.

A statement from Chiltern Railways said: "Taylor Swift will be in concert at Wembley Stadium.

"Services are expected to be very busy and there will be queues in operation.

"Please ensure you allow extra time for your journey. There is an amended timetable in operation."

The American singer has been staying in the Cotswolds during her UK Eras tour.
