The Traitors' Harry defends himself from backlash claiming he didn't deserve win

The Traitors winner Harry Clark has defended himself from a backlash from fans suggesting he doesn’t deserve the winning money.

The contestant, who was a Traitor throughout the second series of the BBC show, walked away with the whole prize pot in last week's finale, notably after convincing fellow star Mollie Pearce that he was a Faithful.

However, some have suggested that the £95K win wasn’t needed, especially after noticing Instagram posts prior to the series appearing to show Harry indulging in a lavish lifestyle, such as going on a private jet.

The star has now hit back, telling Metro that going on the jet was thanks to his girlfriend Anna Maynard, who is a CBBC presenter and the sister of pop star Conor Maynard.

"I wish I had a private jet and I wish I had the money to go on a private jet, it’s a waste of money to be honest," Harry said.

"Everyone thinks I’m rich but I was very lucky to meet my other half, whose brothers have worked amazingly hard since they were 15, and I’ve somehow managed to silver-tongue my way through and weave my way into their lifestyle."

He added: "Everyone’s like, you’ve got designer bags and this and that, all my designer bags are fake. I wouldn’t spend that money, because it’s a waste of money.

"And I would never buy anything for myself, and anything I do have designer like my trainers, they were bought for me as a Christmas present."

Elsewhere, Harry's girlfriend Anna reacted to his win this week, saying she was "IMMENSELY proud" of him.

"A Night to Remember," she wrote on social media. "Wow, can’t quite find the words to explain how IMMENSELY proud of you I am. The winner of Traitors season 2 and so deserved. Going to miss watching you & the whole cast on my TV every week. Incredible."
