Arne Slot will meet the media today as the new Liverpool boss holds his first ever press conference at the AXA Training Ground.

The Dutchman will meet the press at 11am after replacing Jurgen Klopp following the German's decision to stand down after nine years at Anfield.

A new era will dawn and anyone who has watched footage of Slot's other meetings with the assembled media will know that the former Feyenoord boss is a confident speaker.

But first impressions are everything and he'll be following in the footsteps of a manager whose charisma was legendary. Indeed, in Klopp's first press conference as Liverpool boss he labelled himself the 'Normal One' and promised to win trophies - a pledge he'd later keep.

So what does Slot need to do in his first press conference? Our panel of writers have their say on the Dutchman's first meeting with the press:

Rightly or wrongly, Arne Slot's first dealings with English media outside of Liverpool's official channels are likely to be analysed, compared and contrasted alongside his predecessor's in Jurgen Klopp.

The former boss put on a clinic in the Anfield press room way back in October 2015 but the new man just has to be himself and project an air of confidence that will, theoretically, be transmitted in the supporters.

Slot has so far looked to be at ease with the scale of the club and the size of task awaiting him and it will be fascinating to see how he takes the baton on Friday morning. The ECHO, of course, will be there reporting every word from the man.

But after his performance on Friday, that is where the Klopp comparisons should stop, for me. Slot is self-assured in his own ability and those watching on from the AXA Training Centre will get a real taste of that up close.

Some real indications that Slot has already discussed the major issues around the club now - contract talks, transfer targets and tactical plans - is a must to ensure that the last month or so hasn't been as quiet as it has sometimes seemed at the front of house.

Firm answers on his and Richard Hughes's plans for those sorts of topics will further convince that he is the right man to be trusted to lead the club into a brand new dawn.

It's been quite low key for Arne Slot at Liverpool so far. And that's just the way they'll have wanted it after the emotional departure of Jurgen Klopp in May.

An interview with club media gave us a glimpse as to how Slot will approach media engagements and his relaxed tone gave the impression he's not overawed by his new surroundings.

But if you've watched any of his press engagements in his native Holland, you'll know he's a very confident man. And that'll be needed when he faces the media in his first press confeerence.

And while I don't think he needs an iconic 'doubters to believers' or 'normal one' line to print on a range of coffee mugs, a sense of his confidence would be nice. That's why I'd like to see him, like Klopp did, promise silverware.

It's the minimum requirement for any Liverpool boss and Slot needs to believe he'll be lifting some before too long.

Liverpool's new head coach Arne Slot is about to conduct his first press conference. Since taking over the job from the legendary Jurgen Klopp, Slot has done one interview, with the club's media, in which he was introduced as the new leader of the Reds.

Despite having the near impossible job of following the beloved Klopp, Slot sparked initial excitement among fans while sharing his aims and objectives for the upcoming season. But fans will want to see the Dutchman further establish his personality to give further hope in this new era of Liverpool, as well as hearing about how the squad will and have adjusted to the managerial transition.

With a mixture of excitement and nerves, Reds supporters will also be keen to hear more about Slot's style of play and how he will go about implementing that at Liverpool. Slot enjoyed great success at Feyenoord and it will be interesting to hear how he will bring elements of that to Liverpool in order to further improve the team built by Klopp.

As much as Reds fans will want Slot to follow in Klopp's footsteps, this is Slot's time and they will be eager to hear about his plans and the improvements he feels are necessary to keep Liverpool challenging for honours.
