Tree Crashes Onto Home as 'Dangerous' Storm Rips Through Tallahassee

A tree caused extensive damage after it fell onto a home, collapsing the ceiling of a second floor bedroom on Friday morning, May 10, as strong winds and a possible tornado ripped through Tallahassee, Florida.

Residents surveyed the damage the uprooted tree caused both inside and outside the home.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued alerts about the storm at 6.52 am, warning residents of a “dangerous situation unfolding” with “multiple circulations and radar-confirmed tornadoes apparent on radar.”

Multiple reports of damage were received over the following hour, but the NWS said it was too early to determine whether strong winds or a tornado were responsible for the damage. Credit: Brianna Cosby via Storyful
