Cleverly kitted out and beautifully appointed, it is not the facilities that make this hideaway so special - it's the ancient oak tree that's the real star of the show.

The wooden hideaway is constructed around the boughs and trunks of the tree, that twist their way through the centre of the fairytale treehouse. Climb just a few steps into the living area to find cosy rugs and a comfy sofa to snuggle up on.

Visitors to the rural retreat can also relax on the veranda while they take in the views. Up close, there's a pond and fields where deer gather in the morning light, and beyond that, miles of Essex countryside disappear into the distance.

Travel expert and TikTok vlogger Leesh (@leeshbrock) shared a short video of their stay at The Old Oak, declaring "this is your sign to stay in a treehouse"

Coleman's Farm is just an hour from central London and within easy reach of the M11 and M25 motorways. Guests can book the Old Oak for £250 a night or choose to stay in any of the other unusual boltholes located on the same land - the Trap, the Nook or The Coop.
