Three women arrested after grandfather, 72, dies in 'parking dispute’ outside home

Three women have been arrested in connection with a fight that led to the death of a 72-year-old grandad.

The man died following a mass brawl in Treviscoe Close, in Exhall, Warwickshire, at 8.30am on Thursday.

Emergency crews were called but the grandfather was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man and a woman were also injured.

One man was arrested on suspicion of murder, while four others were detained for their alleged part in the disturbance on Thursday.

On Friday, Warwickshire Police revealed three women aged 36, 38 and 41, had also been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

Neighbours said the pensioner was attacked during a dispute over parking and cars blocking driveways on the road amid ongoing building work.

Residents reported hearing "kids screaming in terror" during the mass brawl which erupted on the residential street during rush hour.

It is believed the victim, who has not yet been identified, died after suffering a heart attack.

A force spokesperson said: "This brings the total number of people currently held in custody to eight.

"All of the suspects live in Exhall and this is being treated as an isolated event with no further threat to the public."

Detective Chief Inspector Jon Belcher said previously: “A full investigation is underway to establish the cause and circumstances that led to this loss of life.

"At this time it is believed that all the people involved in the disturbance were known to each other."

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We were called at 8:50am to reports of a disturbance in Treviscoe Close, Exhall.

"We sent the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, three land ambulances and a paramedic officer to the scene.

"On arrival crews found a man in a critical condition.

"Staff worked quickly to administer advanced life support to the patient on scene but sadly, despite the best efforts, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

"A second man was treated for injuries not believed to be serious and he was discharged on scene.

"A woman was also assessed and discharged on scene.”
