Tributes to North Wales football manager after sudden death, aged 46
Tributes have poured in for a popular North Wales football manager who died suddenly, aged just 46. Euron Wyn Davies had managed CPD Y Felinheli in Gwynedd for over a decade, with them currently in the Ardal North West League.
But the club yesterday announced the devastating news that he had passed away. Their game with Flint Mountain was called off as a mark of respect.
In the statement put out by the club they said his death was a loss to the "club, the village, and all his family and friends".
They said he was a strong and wise manager who had brought success to the club and had always retained a good sense of humour throughout his time there. They added he was a "friend to all".
People have left around 100 messages on the club's Facebook post, paying tribute to the manager. His family said he was a hero to them and told the team he will be "looking down all on them".
John Watkins called him a "gentleman" who "always had time for a chat" and "a smile on his face".
Philip Burton said: "Rest in Peace my friend, pleasure to be a teammate of a great successful Felin side all them years ago, a pleasure to work alongside you and overall a great pleasure to class you as a friend."
Clubs also lined up to pay their respects with CPD Bangor 1876, CPD Llannefydd, Bethesda, Llanrwst, and Holyhead Hotspurs among those who left messages.
CPD Tref Dinbych Denbigh Town FC said: "Our deepest sympathies from everyone at Denbigh Town go out to the family and friends of Euron as well as CPD Felinheli."
