Losing a friend or family member is a truly heart-breaking experience, and letting everyone know can be deeply upsetting in times of grief. Every week, CambridgeshireLive publishes death notices, tributes and funeral announcements to help spread to word of those who have died.

These notices provide details on funerals and fundraising and often pay tribute to health staff and carers. To see the full list of family announcements, you can visit the website operated by our partners funeral-notices.co.uk.

See below for the funeral announcements from Cambridgeshire this week (Saturday, May 4 to Friday, May 10).

Cambridge

"Beloved partner of Christopher Cytera and mother of James Robertson, Rhona lost her 2 1/2 year battle with cancer on April 29 2024.

"Rhona was a beacon of light, warmth, and strength to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her grace, resilience, and unwavering love touched the lives of so many, and her memory will forever be cherished in our hearts. Although her passing has left an irreplaceable void in our lives, her spirit will live on in us and give us strength in the years to come.

"Her mother's love for her son Jamie was boundless. She always spoke of him with such pride and adoration, and her legacy will continue to guide him through life's journey and overcome his disability, even in her physical absence. Everyone who got to know Rhona could feel her infectious enthusiasm and refusal to let anything stand in the way of Jamie's education. Bubbly, kind and generous, she really was a 'force of nature', as well as a lover of it, especially birds.

"A funeral service for Rhona, where we will celebrate her life, will be held at Cambridge Crematorium, Huntingdon Road, Cambridge CB3 0JJ on May 14 at 2pm. If you wish to bring flowers, please bring spring flowers such as daffodils and hyacinths, preferably local. Or bring something from your garden. Rhona would not have approved of flowers that have to be flown in.

"Those who cannot attend can instead make a donation to Charles Hazlwood's Paraorchestra, an ensemble of disabled and non-disabled professional musicians: www.justgiving.com/british-paraorchestra Please include a message that your donation is in memory of Rhona Margaret Morgan Robertson.

"Goodbye Rhona, you will always be in our hearts until the very end of our own days."
