TRNSMT festival goers to be hit with mixed weather as event kicks off next week

Weather forecasters are predicting that those heading to TRNSMT will be hit by both sun and rain as the event kicks off next Friday (July 12).

Music lovers flocking to Glasgow Green on the opening day to watch the Sugababes, The Snuts and headliner Liam Gallagher, will need to prepare for highs of 19C and lows of 10C as the sunsets. It will also be a cloudy but dry day.

As the weekend continues it will become a lot cooler and wetter.

The sold-out Saturday starts off dry and sunny, but as Gerry Cinnamon takes to the stage concert goers can expect a downpour of rain and lows of 11C.

Those heading to Glasgow Green on Sunday to watch Calvin Harris' closing set will definitely need a jacket.

Forecasters predict music lovers will be faced with a downpour from the get go with rain continuing into the night. Despite the wet conditions temperatures will reach highs of 18C and lows 12C.
