Drivers will be banned from driving or parking on part of a busy Nottinghamshire road during nearly two weeks of roadworks. Nottinghamshire County Council has explained part of the A609 Nottingham Road in Trowell will soon be resurfaced, meaning part of it will have to be closed between 8pm and 6am everyday from Monday, July 22 to August 3.

The road will be closed between its junction with A609 Ilkeston Road and with Waterloo Lane, with the work carried out by Via East Midlands on behalf of the county council. While the surface repairs take place no drivers will be able to access this section of the road, or park on it for any reason.

Road users will be able to travel along the stretch of road for most of the day, but the closure at night could cause some disruption. Nottinghamshire County Council has told drivers to divert through A6002 Coventry Lane, A6007 Ilkeston Road, and then A6007 Stapleford Road.
