Trump Admits He Planned 'Something Extremely Rough' on Clinton Family at Debate – But Couldn't Do It 'with Chelsea in the Room'

Just moments after leaving the debate stage on Monday night, Donald Trump paid a visit to the "spin room" to shed light on a veiled threat he made earlier that night to "say something extremely rough" to Hillary Clinton and her family.

"Everything I wanted to say I got out except for the transgressions of Bill," Trump said of his opponent's husband, former President Bill Clinton. The GOP nominee added that he didn't want to "say what he wanted to say with Chelsea in the room."

"I'm very happy that I was able to hold back on the indiscretions with respect to Bill Clinton because I have a lot of respect for Chelsea Clinton and I just didn't want to say what I was going to say," he continued.

But he dangled the possibility of bringing it up next time. Asked by CNN's Dana Bash what, exactly, he was planning to say to Hillary Clinton, Trump replied: "I'll tell you maybe at the next debate, we'll see."

Hillary Clinton blasted Trump during the debate for his disrespectful comments about women, saying, "This is a man who has called women pigs, slobs and dogs."

Trump shot back, "I was going to say something extremely rough to Hillary, to her family. And I said to myself I can't do it. I just can't do it. It's inappropriate, it's not nice. But she's spent hundreds of millions of dollars on negative ads on me."

Added Trump, "It's not nice and I don't deserve that. But it's certainly not a nice thing that she's done."

Trump previously threatened to invite Gennifer Flowers, the one-time mistress of former President Clinton, to the first presidential debate on Monday night. Although Flowers tweeted that she planned to attend the event, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Trump's vice presidential nominee, later told Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace that Trump did not formally invite Flowers to the debate and said the GOP nominee was just "mocking" Hillary Clinton's campaign.
