Turns out ITV was a curse for England at the World Cup
England football fans are currently looking far afield for scapegoats following the team's crushing defeat in the World Cup semi-finals, and now even broadcasters are getting the blame treatment.
All three of manager Gareth Southgate's losses have coincidentally taken place whilst being shown live on ITV, as pointed out by a few eager fans on Twitter. This of course means England won all their matches shown on the BBC.

So, it seems another 'curse' has materialised, following Mick Jagger's interesting bad luck whilst attending sports events.
More and more social media users are jumping on this one, with ITV seemingly at fault.

It’s confirmed, ITV suck! They showed 4 england games and we lost 3, the other needed pens! BBC showed 3 wins out of 3! Ban itv from sport for life! #itvsucks

I swear every time England are on ITV they lose. ITV leave the football to BBC.

England's televised losses on ITV include two defeats to Belgium (0-1 in the group stage and 0-2 in today's third-place play-off), plus Wednesday's 1-2 scoreline against Croatia. The latter of which was England's first World Cup semi-final since the 1990 tournament held in Italy.
The 'Mick Jagger curse' is also a fascinating statistical issue, as the famous singer has proved to be something of a grim reaper for any team he's supported whilst in attendance.
This has happened on a variety of occasions, including England's recent semi-final defeat in Moscow and Brazil's painful loss to Germany back at the 2014 World Cup. He was supporting the host nation with his Brazilian-born son, Lucas.
