One of the UK's top chefs will open a new restaurant in a seaside town in North Wales. Andrew Sheridan is a Three AA Rosette chef who has appeared on the BBC's Great British Menu.

Andrew’s flagship restaurant 8 By Andrew Sheridan in Liverpool holds three AA Rosettes and is listed in the Michelin Guide. His group Open Restaurants Group (ORG) also runs two upmarket bistros: Black & Green, in Barnt Green, Worcestershire, and OXA in Oxton, The Wirral.

Sheridan, who was brought up in North Wales, will now launch ‘small plates’ restaurant Dishes on Prestatyn High Street – near to where he now lives. It is expected to open in July and will serve small, social plates of food, and a carefully selected drinks list.

It is good timing as the town was recently judged the best shopping destination in Wales.

Sheridan said: “The concept for Dishes is that it will be small, social plates based around the food we love to cook and eat. We’ll combine great music, delicious food with wines, beers, and cocktails. We look forward to making our mark on this bustling Welsh high street.”

Sheridan was working in North Wales when he was on Series 14 of BBC Two's Great British Menu. Later moving to Birmingham, his bijou restaurant Black & Green in Barnt Green is now listed by Michelin, AA, Harden’s and The Good Food Guide.

The Prestatyn venture is supported by his business partners Sam and Emma Morgan of ORG. Most recently the group was part of a community venture to reopen The Bracebridge, a popular waterfront restaurant in an affluent suburb of Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands.
