The 5 best TV shows on tonight: Thursday 25 February

Comedians dominate in the new programmes airing on Thursday as five of the nation's funny people try to get celebrities not known for having side-splitting abilities into live comedy in Stand Up & Deliver.

Another crop of comedians also feature on Dating No Filter as they set up and oversee singletons on dates.

Elsewhere on ITV, Trisha Goddard's life and career is under the microscope on Piers Morgan's Life Stories.

Inside Culture with Mary Beard - 7pm - BBC Two

Mary Beard is joined by TV writer Jed Mercurio for the final episode of the season.

The historian chats with Mercurio, a former doctor and Royal Air Force officer, about how much his early medical and military training informs his writing.

He's the man behind dramas such as Bodies, Bodyguard and Line of Duty - which is set to air its sixth season soon.

The Martin Lewis Money Show: Live - 8.30pm - ITV

It's a special one for the Martin Lewis Money Show as the programme hits 100 episodes, with the financial expert taking a quick trip down memory lane in honour of the occasion.

The show continues to provide up to date information as Lewis and co-host Angellica Bell report on how the lockdown is effecting family finances and consumer rights.

Piers Morgan's Life Stories - 9pm - ITV

It's Trisha Goddard's turn on Life Stories as the chat show host appears in conversation with Piers Morgan.

The 63-year-old talks about her complex life and career, including finding out the man she believed was her dad wasn't her biological father, surviving breast cancer and the racism she's experienced as a Black woman.

But she also reflects on her hugely successful working life which has seen her present shows on three continents.

Stand Up & Deliver - 9pm - Channel 4

Five famous faces are trying their hand at comedy in aid of Stand Up for Cancer, with some help from some professionals.

David Baddiel, Jason Manford, Nick Helm, Judi Love, and Zoe Lyons help to coach stars Rev Richard Coles, Shaun Ryder, Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, Curtis Pritchard and Katie McGlynn as they attempt to get in touch with their funny bones across the two-part series.

Dating No Filter - 10pm - Sky One

Comedians are tasked with helping to set up and oversee blind dates while providing commentary on the action in this new series.

The Sky show is a remake of the US programme of the same name which originally aired on E!

The celebrities undertaking the job include Daisy May Cooper and Susan Wokoma. Other stars appearing include Tom Allen, Rosie Jones and Joel Dommett.
