TVLine Items: Brittany Snow Joins Malin Åkerman in Starz Thriller, Outlander Prequel Casting and More

Brittany Snow will make one killer transplant in the thriller The Hunting Wives.

The actress will star opposite Malin Åkerman in the upcoming Starz drama, TVLine has learned. She will portray Sophie O’Neil, whose family relocates from the East Coast to East Texas, where she falls under socialite Margo Bank’s (Åkerman) charms and sees her life consumed by obsession, seduction and murder.

The eight-episode series is adapted from the novel by May Cobb, which drew comparisons to Desperate Housewives, Big Little Lies and Mean Girls. Production will begin in Charlotte, N.C. this spring.

The show is executive produced by Hightown’s Rebecca Cutter, who will also write and serve as showrunner. A release date has not yet been set.

* Sony is taking another stab at a Bewitched reboot. The studio is developing an “irreverent hourlong reimagination” of the TV classic, written by Boys scribe Judalina Neira, per Deadline.

Love Island USA will return to Peacock this summer for Season 6, along with Queen’s Court Season 2. Additionally, the streaming service has announced a Thursday, May 9 premiere date for Love Undercover, a new unscripted series described as “a modern-day fairytale-meets-buddy comedy about a small group of international soccer stars who come to the United States on a secret quest for true love.”

The Baxters, a new family drama starring Roma Downey (Touched by an Angel) and Ted McGinley (Shrinking), will premiere Thursday, March 28 on Prime Video. Watch a sneak peek:
