Twitter fuming as Kylie Jenner becomes youngest self-made billionaire: 'It's an insult!'
People are refusing to accept Kylie Jenner is a self-made billionaire after she officially became the youngest person ever to take the title.
The 21-year-old beat Facebook tycoon Mark Zuckerberg, who was 23, to achieve the 10 figure feat.
Jenner told Forbes the “recognition” makes her “feel good” and described the achievement as a “nice pat on the back”.
But some refused to celebrate, with many taking aim at the term “self-made,” claiming her famous family makes her exempt.
One tweeted: “Please stop calling Kylie Jenner a self-made billionaire.”
Another wrote: “Stop referring to Kylie Jenner as a ‘self-made billionaire’ pls. It's an insult to anyone who had to work their way up without privilege.”
A third wrote: “Literally what the f*** does self made mean? Kylie Jenner was Born into money & opportunities. She never had to pay a dime toward her education or take a terrible unpaid internship to get to where she is. That’s not exactly self made.”
I hate that Kylie Jenner is being branded as a “self-made billionaire”

I don’t wanna live in a world where Kylie Jenner is a billionaire.

Anyone else think the news about Kylie Jenner being a “self made” billionaire is the real fake news of the day?

Lol. I admittedly don’t know anything about the Kardashians but I do know what “self-made” implies, and this ain’t it. Kylie Jenner is the product, not a producer. https://t.co/T9gtv9oA30

Someone explain to me how Kylie Jenner has claimed that title of “self made” billionaire.

She may be a billionaire and she may be young, but self-made is a stretch #kyliejenner

Others compared their lives to Jenner’s with one joking they could barely afford a slice of bread: “Today, at 21 years old, Kylie Jenner became the youngest self-made billionaire of all time. Today, at 21 years old, I picked mould off a piece of bread, ate it, then called my mum to ask if it would poison me.”
Another tweeted: “Congratulations @KylieJenner on being the world’s youngest billionaire. Now can I borrow $1000? Some of us barely living above the poverty line out here (sic).”
Jenner was previously savaged by Dictionary.com which tweeted the definition of the word “self-made” after she was tipped to hit the $1 billion mark last year.
Fans later set up a GoFundMe page to help push her from $900 million to the billion mark, and joked they were prepared to take out a “second mortgage” to help the star reach the goal faster.
Jenner’s new worth is thanks to her beauty empire Kylie Cosmetics which is worth an estimated $800 million.
