Two $1M prizes from same scratch-off lottery ticket claimed on the same day

Jan. 31 (UPI) -- The Massachusetts State Lottery said two $1 million prizes from the same scratch-off game were claimed within a single half hour.

Lottery officials said Jonathan Seward of Sheffield visited lottery headquarters to claim a $1 million prize from a $5,000,000 100X Cashword scratch-off ticket, and 25 minutes later Lawrence Troy of Mansfield arrived to claim the same amount from the same ticket.

Seward purchased his winning ticket at Silk's Variety in Sheffield, while Troy purchased his from the 7-Eleven on Copeland Drive in Mansfield.

Seward said he will invest some of his winnings into his business. Troy said he does not have any immediate plans for his prize money.
