Two detained after Cornwall police helicopter search

Two people have been detained following a police helicopter search in Cornwall. The chopper was spotted above St Blazey shortly after 7pm this evening (April 28).

A resident said on Facebook that the helicopter was "hanging around" near Station Road. Devon and Cornwall Police have since confirmed that they were looking for a pair in connection to an aggravated burglary.

The force said that two people were detained after being located by officers. It comes after a witness said that the helicopter appeared to be "looking for someone".

Chantelle Smith posted on Facebook at 7.10pm: "What’s going on as the police helicopter is hanging around Saint Blazy near Station Road it keeps hovering looks like they’re looking for someone."

The Devon and Cornwall Police Force Incident Manager confirmed to Cornwall Live: "It was in relation to an aggravated burglary. Two people have been detained."
