Two in hospital after stabbing horror in Bilston

Two men were rushed to hospital after a stabbing in Bilston. Emergency services swarmed Shale Street on Friday lunchtime (April 19) following reports of violence.

Medics were called to the scene at 12.11pm and treated a casualty who had suffered 'potentially serious injuries'. A second 999 call resulted in another man being found in nearby Hartshorn Street with 'serious' stab wounds.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a stabbing on Shale Street at 12.11pm, one ambulance, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic and the trust’s critical care car attended the scene."

The spokesperson continued: "We treated a man for potentially serious injuries before he was taken to hospital. A second call, to a patient with stab wounds on Hartshorn Street, was received at 12.18pm, one ambulance attended.

"On arrival at this location we treated a man for serious injuries before he was also taken to hospital." BirminghamLive has contacted West Midlands Police for comment. A force spokesperson confirmed: "We were called to a report of a disorder involving several people near Shale Street in the Bilston area of Wolverhampton at around mid-day today (Friday 19 April).

"Two men were taken to hospital with stab injuries. One man, in his 20s, remains in hospital and the other, in his 30s, was discharged following treatment. Both men have been arrested and remain in custody while our enquiries continue."
