Two pedestrians sustain 'life-threatening injuries' in collision on Spring Bank

Two pedestrians have sustained life-threatening injuries following a collision on Spring Bank on Tuesday night.

Emergency services were called to Spring Bank, close to the junction with Louis Street, at around 9pm, following reports that a grey BMW travelling eastbound had collided with two pedestrians.

They were taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries which are thought to be life-threatening.

Two men, aged 26 and 40, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and other driving offences. Both remain in police custody whilst officers continue with their enquiries.

The road was subsequently cordoned off to motorists following the incident. Pictures taken at the scene show a vehicle flipped over onto its roof.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time or has CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist with our enquiries to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 428 of 2 July.
