Two in Royal Stoke as police and paramedics called to smash
Two people were taken to hospital after a crash shut a North Staffordshire road. Police and paramedics were called out to reports of a two-car collision on Leek's Junction Road.
West Midlands Ambulance Service say the incident ended in a man and woman being taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital. Locals reported yesterday afternoon's collision left part of the road - which links the A53 with Cheddleton Road - blocked.
Emergency services had been called to the scene at 2.10pm.
An ambulance service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a two-car road traffic collision on Junction Road, one ambulance attended the scene. On arrival we discovered two patients, a man and a woman, both from the same car. Crews were told the man had suffered a suspected medical episode prior to the collision whilst the woman had suffered minor injuries. Following treatment they were both taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital."
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "We were called to Junction Road, Leek, just after 2pm yesterday (Tuesday 30 April) after a Mercedes car was in collision with four stationary vehicles. A man and woman were assessed at the scene and taken to hospital for treatment."
