Two Self-Driving Cars Narrowly Avoid Collision In California

Two driverless cars have narrowly avoided an accident on the streets of Silicon Valley in California.

The near miss, involving a Google-powered Lexus and an Audi run by Delphi Automotive, is thought to be the first incident involving two self-driving cars.

The Google car reportedly forced the Audi to take “appropriate action” in order to avoid a collision while changing lanes, according to the passenger in the Audi.

Despite a close call, a collision was avoided.

Google recently acknowledged that 11 of its driverless cars had been involved in minor traffic accidents in California over the last six years.

“Not once was the self-driving car the cause of the accident,” said the director of Google’s self-driving car project Chris Urmson.

However, Google has made no comment on the recent near miss.

Google has just unveiled its latest driverless prototype, which is already on the roads of Mountain View in California.
