Two shootings with suspects on the loose in horror 24 hours across south London

A horror 24 hours across south London saw two separate shootings with suspects on the loose.

The two shootings, which have not been linked by police, took place in Plumstead and Lambeth.

At 12.18am on Thursday, June 13 there was a shooting in the High Trees Estate in Tulse Hill.

No injuries were reported.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw a black VW ID.5 in the area around that time, or anyone who noticed any person acting suspiciously.

Anyone with information regarding this shooting is asked to call police on 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD129/ 13JUN24.

Detective Inspector, Martin Thomas from the team leading the investigation, said: “All reports of this kind are taken incredibly seriously and are investigated thoroughly.

“I am asking anyone who was in the area and heard or saw shots fired to contact us immediately.

“I also want to ask local residents to check their doorbell and dash cam footage to see if they might have caught something that can help us.”

Less than 13 hours later, armed police flocked to a shooting in Plumstead.

The incident happened in Lakedale Road near Brewery Road just before 1.10pm today (Friday, June 14).

Initial police enquiries discovered that a vehicle had suffered damage as a result of a firearm discharge.

No victims have yet been identified.

Lakedale Road remains cordoned off by police as the incident is being dealt with.

No arrests have been made and police enquiries into the circumstances continue.
