Two taken to Countess of Chester as emergency services descend on A51 smash

Two people were taken to hospital after emergency services were scrambled to a smash on a key Chester road. During the height of the incident on Tarvin Road police, paramedics and one fire engine were at the scene.

The alarm was raised just before 6.10pm on Monday with crews sent to the stretch through Littleton. A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "The collision involved a white Ford KA, a blue Vauxhall Adam and a silver Kia Sportage.

"There were no reports of any serious injuries, but two people were taken to the Countess of Chester as a precaution. The scene was cleared by 7.45pm."

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service sent one engine from Chester with firefighters assessing four casualties at the scene. A spokesperson said: "A hose reel jet was used for safety purposes and the crew was at the scene for approximately one hour."
