Tyrone captain Peter Harte is set to make his first Championship first of 2024 after being named at centre-back for Saturday’s All-Ireland SFC preliminary quarter-final tie against Roscommon at O’Neill’s Healy Park.

With Conn Kilpatrick posed to serve a two-game ban , Mattie Donnelly moves to midfield to partner Brian Kennedy while Ben Cullen, who scored a vital goal against Cork last Saturday, starts ahead of Aidan Clarke, who isn’t listed in the match-day 26.

Brian Dooher and Feargal Logan have included three of Tyrone’s U20 stars on the bench for Saturday game. Shea O’Hare has featured in the wins over both Clare and Cork in recent weeks and he is joined on the squad by U20 captain Michael Rafferty and star forward Eoin McElholm.

It remains to be seen if Tyrone will pursue any further appeals in order to try and clear Kilpatrick for Saturday’s game.

After having his red card upheld by the Hearings Committee earlier this week, he can appeal that decision before, ultimately, bringing his case to the DRA.

Roscommon, meanwhile, have named an unchanged team with Davy Burke keeping faith with the side that defeated Cavan 3-20 to 1-20 last weekend.

Tyrone: Niall Morgan; Michael McKernan, Padraig Hampsey, Niall Devlin; Ben Cullen, Peter Harte, Michael O’Neill; Brian Kennedy, Mattie Donnelly; Ciaran Daly, Ruairi Canavan, Kieran McGeary; Darrren McCurry, Darragh Canavan, Seanie O’Donnell.

Roscommon: Conor Carroll; Niall Higgins, Brian Stack, Robbie Dolan; David Murray, Ruaidhrí Fallon, Eoin McCormack; Enda Smith, Ultan Harney; Dylan Ruane, Diarmuid Murtagh, Shane Cunnane; Daire Cregg, Conor Cox, Donie Smith.
