Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have both cashed in big tonight from their undisputed heavyweight title fight in Saudi Arabia.

Usyk completed a feat 25 years in the making, becoming the first boxer since Lennox Lewis to unify the WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF titles. The Ukrainian did this by means of split decision after the 'The Gypsy King' went the distance.

Billed as one of the fights of the 21st century in months of build-up, the main event certainly lived up the expectations of global boxing fans. However, despite falling on the night, Fury is on course to take home a major financial package as reward.

Fury v Usyk prize money explained

When the two fighters' teams finally reached their agreement in 2023, they settled upon a 70/30 purse split in favour of Fury. Whilst the exact figure is not yet publicly known, there has been speculation that the Wythenshawe boxer will take home $150m (£116m) for taking part in the fight - albeit with some tax deductions for the Englishman.

The reason 'The Cat' accepted such a weighted purse was under the condition that his opponent donate £1m of his earnings to Ukraine amid the country's ongoing war with Russia.

The 'Gypsy King's' American promoter Bob Arum has previously stated that Fury would be unhappy if he was only offered closer to $100m.

"If you told Tyson Fury he's set to make $100 million, he'd really get p****d off," the American said last October. "Because he thinks – and I think he's right – that he's gonna make a lot more than that."

On the other side of of the agreement and the speculation surrounding the fight's purse, Usyk will reportedly pocket $64m (£49m). Confirmation of the exact totals is expected in the near future.
