Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk fans warned of 'serious risks' of illegal stream ahead of fight

Boxing fans have been issued an urgent warning on this evening's fight

UK streamers have been warned of "serious risks" if they illegally stream the boxing match between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, says the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT).

Jailbroken Fire Sticks, side-loaded Android apps and unofficial PC sites are among the methods people use to access premium sporting events without paying the hefty fee, but these come with risks. In addition to being illegal, cyber criminals are aware of the hype surrounding the fight and will be looking for profitable ways to exploit those who are unsuspecting and desperate to watch.

Many 'free streams' are advertised on social media, with users often only realising they have been scammed after handing over credit card details or personal information. There's also the danger of malicious malware systems being installed onto your device, which could steal passwords, bank details and data.

Kieron Sharp, CEO of FACT, said: "Avoiding the official routes to legitimately watch, the highly anticipated fight between Fury and Usyk this Saturday, will be illegal and can expose consumers to serious risks. From malware installation on devices, accessing bank accounts or stealing personal data like emails, personal photos and browsing history, consumers can become a prime target for seasoned fraudsters. FACT are leading the way in combatting digital piracy and working with law enforcement and industry to identify those behind these criminal networks and crackdown on illegal streaming.

"FACT are proud partners of BeStreamWise.com which aims to highlight the risks of illegal streaming, inform the public of the facts and most importantly, providing information on where consumers can safely watch content they love. Boxing fans should enjoy the superior live coverage offered through official providers rather than worry about consumer risks or breaking the law."

If you're worried about this, there are several sanctioned methods to view the match. Sky Box Office offers an official stream at a cost of £24.95, while DAZN is charging the same amount in addition to offering a free one-month subscription to their platform.

The action in the boxing ring will kick off on Saturday afternoon, with Fury and Usyk projected to enter the arena around 11pm.
