Taylor Swift has shared that the legendary Irish band U2 sent her a "beautiful bouquet of flowers" to welcome her ahead of her inaugural performance at Dublin's Aviva Stadium on Friday.

Excited fans flocked to the large-scale Friday event, eager to experience the 'Shake It Off' singer live during her three-night run at the 51,700-capacity venue, with some travelling from abroad specifically for Taylor's Eras Tour.

Opening the show for pop sensation Taylor Swift was none other than Hayley Williams and the iconic pop-punk group Paramore, who delivered an electrifying act before Taylor took centre stage for her three-hour plus spectacle, with Williams sporting a Cranberries shirt.

Touching down in Dublin earlier that day, Swift quickly received a warm Irish welcome from none other than U2, who gifted the chart-topping artist a gorgeous arrangement of flowers as she geared up for her series of concerts.

Taking to Instagram to express her gratitude, Taylor posted a snapshot of the bouquet and accompanying note, captioning: "Already feeling that Irish hospitality, U2 thanks for always being the classiest and the coolest.", reports the Irish Mirror.

Accompanying the floral gift, a card was visible, stating: "Dear Taylor, Welcome back to our hometown... leave some of it standing?!!!! Your Irish fan club, Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry."

While U2 have yet to grace the Aviva Stadium, they've rocked the vicinity when it was known as Lansdowne Road, having performed there in August 1997a year synonymous with their album release 'Pop'.
