You might wonder how taxi drivers break their fast during Ramadan. Do they drive back home for a quick Iftar or eat a sandwich in their car?

Courier giant Uber offered a solution to this dilemma by announcing pop-up restaurants with complimentary Iftar meals for fasting drivers. Known as 'Sundown Spots' these restaurants will prepare bespoke menus for drivers and a designated area for prayer ahead of Iftar.

The campaign aims to 'express gratitude' to hardworking delivery couriers and Uber drivers still stepping on the pedal throughout Ramadan. Uber Eats will also add Suhoor badges to late-night restaurants in the app and display neon signs on billboards in selected cities.

The first Sundown Spot will open in London on March 28 at Halal restaurant Turkuoise, followed by in Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester. A post-Iftar food truck giving away free sweet treats this Ramadan will also be launched.

The 'one-of-a-kind' neon food truck will surprise unsuspecting members of the public with a free post-Iftar treat. Moving across various cities it will be trackable on mobile phones, just don't expect to hear annoying jingles.

"We're also delighted to reintroduce our Sundown Spots Iftar dinners to express our appreciation to our incredible drivers who continue to work with Uber whilst fasting. We are also offering a to-go option for couriers who wish to keep delivering on Uber Eats during this time."
