Uffculme Music and Real Ale Festival 2024 rocks on

Dust off your dancing shoes and prepare your taste buds for a wild ride as Uffculme gears up for its annual Music and Real Ale Festival.

The event takes place at Magelake on July 5 and 6 with 18 ales, 13 ciders, and an array of live music acts.

The festival's organisers are keeping most of the drink selections under wraps, but some of the featured brews include Alfie’s Revenge, Ginger Tosser, Thirst Responder, Yakima Big Chief Amber, and Crazy Goat. In addition to these unique ales and ciders, a general bar will offer both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Friday night kicks off with two five-piece bands. The Chris Ostler Band will start the night. Following them, Carnaby Street, known for their performances at previous festivals, will bring the best of the swinging '60s to life.

Saturday's lineup is packed with a variety of performances. The East Devon Rock Choir, returning by popular demand, will open the day's festivities. Andy Ellis, a musician using acoustic guitar, electric drums, and a loop pedal, follows. Next up, Yeo & Jory will showcase Sarah Yeo's vocals and Sarah Jory's pedal steel guitar skills.

The afternoon continues with Tricky Situation, a blues and soul band featuring Verity Greenaway and Phil Bowler. Adam Sweet and Ian Jennings, on acoustic guitar and double bass duo, will also take the stage. The New Jersey Boys will perform their renowned show "Oh What A Night," featuring music from Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Rock The Night will close the festival with rock, pop, and party covers, led by the guitarist Plamen Nikolov.

Food will be provided by Freemans Street Food, Oak Oven Pizza Company, and Bonne Bouche. Kids can enjoy bouncy castles, face painting, and glitter hair extensions, which are also available for adults. Beautyglow Hair & Makeup will offer festival hats and more at their emporium.

Festival hours are Friday from 6 pm. to midnight and Saturday from 2 pm. to midnight. Admission is £10 per day or £15 for a two-day pass. Children and those under 18 enter for free if accompanied by an adult. For advance tickets and more information, visit uffculmemusicfest.co.uk. Dogs on leads are welcome.
