The UK is bracing for a four-day Icelandic snow storm to hit in just days - and Coventry will face the chill. Scotland is set to be hardest hit with up to 4cm of snow an hour this Sunday (April 28).

But the low-pressure system , which the Mirror has reported originates off the south coast of Greenland and heads east to Iceland, will first strike on Friday (April 26). Moving into the weekend, it will move south east, directly for the UK and will bring rain on Saturday, turning to snow for parts of Northern Ireland, the north west of England and parts of Scotland on Sunday.

WXCharts says the eye of the low pressure system could see the snow reach Wales but it is not yet predicted to reach the Midlands. However, while the latest local Met Office report for our area does not yet cover the weekend, it does warn that it is going to 'feel chilly' across our area in the run-up to the weekend.
