UK Conservatives say they will release election manifesto next week

PM Sunak meets voters across the UK as the election campaign continues

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's Conservative Party will publish its election manifesto next week, Conservative politician Penny Mordaunt said in a BBC television debate on Friday.

"You have already heard some announcements and you'll see more in our manifesto next week. We have got to cut people's taxes and we have got to alleviate burdens on business," said Mordaunt, who was in charge of parliamentary business in Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's government.

Britain's opposition Labour Party is also expected to release its manifesto next week ahead of the July 4 election.

Opinion polls show Labour has a large lead over the Conservatives.
