UK GAS-Prices fall on Norway flows and forecasts for strong wind

July 27 (Reuters) - British wholesale gas prices fell slightly on Friday on expectations for stronger wind power output in coming days and as robust flows from Norway created an oversupplied system.

* Day-ahead gas fell by 0.48 pence to 57.15 pence per therm at 0818 GMT

* Within-day contract was down 0.15 pence at 57.40 p/therm.

* Gas for weekend delivery lost 0.45 pence to 56.00 pence per therm

* Britain's strong gas imports from Norway and forecasts for increased power output from wind turbines were behind the price slip across all contracts, said a British gas trader.

* Gas supply from Norway to Britain was robust, even though slightly down to 80 million cubic metres (mcm) per day from 83 mcm/day the previous day

* The British gas market was oversupplied, with demand forecast at 169.6 million cubic metres and flows at 178.8 mcm/day, National Grid data showed

* Peak wind power generation is forecast at 3.1 gigawatts (GW) on Friday but is expected to rise to 8.4 GW on Saturday (Shenzhen: 002291.SZ - news) , Elexon data showed

* Average daily temperatures in Britain are seen at about 21.5 degrees Celsius on Friday but are expected to fall to 18.4 C on Saturday and to 17.5 C on Sunday, Thomson Reuters Eikon data showed

* Britain received one liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessel on July 26 at Milford Haven. No other vessels were scheduled to arrive as of Friday

* Forward monthly gas contract for August fell 0.45 pence to 57.20 p/therm.

* In the Dutch gas market, the day-ahead price at the TTF hub inched down by 0.29 euro to 21.98 euros per megawatt-hour
