UK households can get free £290 cash payment 'depending on number of children'

UK households can get £290 free cash towards the Cost of Living. After the Household Support Fund was extended by the Conservative Party, the money is now divvied up to local authorities and councils to decide what to do with.

Payments are made to eligible households including single people with no dependent children receive a single payment of £50 and couples with no dependent children receive a single payment of £70.

Other payments will be made to households with one dependent child receive £110 in two payments of £55, households with two dependent children receive £170 in two payments of £85, households with three dependent children receive £230 in two payments of £115, households with four or more dependent children receive £290 in two payments of £145.

The local authority said: "For applicants of working age who received a payment under the previous Household Support Fund, we checked if you still meet the eligibility criteria and if you do, we paid you automatically, you do not need to apply.

Payment will be made directly into your bank account using the information you previously provided. You only need to contact us if your bank account has changed since your previous award. Please email householdsupportfund@doncaster.gov.uk and provide your name, National Insurance Number, address, your new bank sort code, account number and name of the account holder."

It added: "If you are a pensioner, or if you are working age and did not receive a payment under the previous Household Support Fund and you meet the qualifying criteria you will have to submit an online application. New applications will be processed within 7 days of receipt, and payment for successful applications will be sent within 2 weeks of the decision being made.

"If an email address is provided, we will notify you when the payment has been processed."
