UK tourists in Benidorm told 'avoid' beaches and warned 'don't come back'

British tourists in Benidorm have hit out at a beach where people are "driving mobility scooters at 40mph". Playa de Levante has come under fire from angry Brit holidaymakers and tourists who've taken to TripAdvisor to voice their fury at the antics.

In a Tripadvisor post, Kieran wrote: "Don't get me wrong the place was lovely and very close to the UK as I don't like flying but the only thing I detest with a vengeance is the way the scooters and them mobility scooters are used.

"I know scooters are used for work to deliver food and other things, but when someone goes around a tight corner at nearly 30-40 miles an hour - even other tourists were shocked as it nearly missed them. It also nearly missed me by a few feet. I'd rather not go back there as I don't fancy being in the hospital, in an ICU or any other ward - maybe even dead given your own bad health so I will never be back.

"I even saw a woman being hit just walking through the old town and hurt her wrist. So Benidorm, no thanks it's too many accidents waiting to happen..." Another said: "Too many people, couldn't see the beach for bodies! Benidorm is dirty and if you are a vegetarian don't visit this town."

"Hired sun beads at a reasonable cost. However it was hard to find a sun bed that hadn’t been used as an ashtray. Why do people feel the need to bury their cigarette ends in the sand. These are not biodegradable and children building sand castles shouldn’t be exposed to these. Take them home with you," another typed.

"We weren't fussed about paying for loungers and an umbrella but the whole area supposedly under the care of these people was filthy, couldn't walk more than 1 foot without walking on a cigarette butt or rubbish. Wouldn't come back to this beach at all," another agreed.
