Ukraine denies Russian capture of Krasna Hora near Bakhmut

"There are ongoing battles there,” said Cherevatyi.

Cherevaty said that Bakhmut remains at the center of Russia's main point of attack. According to him, the Ukrainian forces are now “conducting counter-battery (artillery) fights.”

“We have the ability to supply weapons, food, equipment, medicine, and to evacuate wounded from there (Bakhmut and its surroundings,” Cherevatyi added.

On Feb. 13, Russian Defense Ministry announced at a briefing that “volunteers of assault detachments” have captured the village of Krasna Hora in Donetsk Oblast.

Earlier, UK Defense Intelligence reported that Russian troops advanced in the Bakhmut area. According to them, Wagner PMC mercenaries advanced 2-3 kilometers to the west, controlling the area near the main M-03 highway leading to the city.

On Feb. 7, the head of the Donetsk OVA, Pavlo Kyrylenko, said that invading Russian forces do not maintain the highway to Bakhmut under full fire control, but are trying to use “pincer” tactics at the city, aiming to surround the area from two sides.
