UN Delegation Visits City in Northwest Syria to Inspect Damage Following Deadly Earthquake

A United Nations (UN) delegation visited northwest Syria to inspect damage more than two weeks after devastating earthquakes led to the deaths of tens of thousands in southern Turkey and northern Syria.

The Shaam News Network said this footage shows the UN delegation in Haram, a city in the western countryside of Idlib, Syria.

According to the UN website, 227 trucks loaded with supplies have crossed from Turkey to Syria since February 9.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on February 20 that Syria’s death toll had risen to 8,476, and Turkish state-run news outlet Anadolu Agency reported a death toll of 42,310 in Turkey on February 21. Credit: Shaam News Network via Storyful
