Unai Emery has given injury updates on Emi Martinez and Youri Tielemans after both players were replaced during Aston Villa's 2-2 draw with Chelsea.

Martinez appeared to receive treatment for a hamstring issue during the first half while Tielemans was being seen to by medical staff on the pitch. The Belgian was clutching his groin and made way for Moussa Diaby in the 27th minute.

"We will test him tomorrow," Emery said about Martinez. "Even with the injury of Tielemans, we will have to wait for tomorrow. I don’t know exactly. Even if they are not available for one week, two weeks, three weeks, we have to accept it."

Villa took the lead when John McGinn's effort deflected in off Marc Cucurella, before Morgan Rogers then doubled the host's advantage in the 42nd minute. But Villa were lucky to have a two-goal lead considering their poor performance.

After Martinez was substituted, Noni Madueke halved Chelsea's deficit on the hour mark by converting inside the box. With their backs against the wall, Villa failed to hold on and conceded again the 81st minute when Conor Gallagher bent the ball over Olsen.

Villa are seven points ahead of Tottenham ahead of Sunday's north London derby.
