Universal Credit 2024 payment dates - full list of when new rates will be paid

The Department for Work and Pensions is set to introduce new payment rates of Universal Credit. It follows a 6.7 per cent increase for all DWP benefits announced in the Autumn Statement, due to be implemented this month.

However, it's important to note that the increase will not be applied to every individual's total payment, but rather each separate element of Universal Credit. To see the rise in your payments, you'll need a Universal Credit assessment period that starts on or after April 8.

Any assessment starting before April 8 will be paid at the old rates, even if it begins just one day before, on April 7. As a result, it's crucial to remember the cut-off point.

This means that if your assessment period runs from April 7 to May 6, you'll miss out on the higher rates by one day and they won't be added to your new payment when it goes into your account on May 13. Still confused?

8th of the month to 7th of the next month (paid 14th) - rise applied in May, you will receive it in your payment on May 14 - note: these will be the first claimants to see the increase

9th of the month to 8th of the next month (paid 15th) - rise applied in May, you will receive it in your payment on May 15

10th of the month to 9th of the next month (paid 16th) -rise applied in May, you will receive it in your payment on May 16

11th of the month to 10th of the next month (paid 17th) - rise applied in May, you will receive it in your payment on May 17

12th of the month to 11th of the next month (paid 18th) - rise applied in May, you will receive it in your payment on May 18

13th of the month to 12th of the next month (paid 19th) - rise applied in May, you will receive it in your payment on May 19

14th of the month to 13th of the next month (paid 20th) - rise applied in May, you will receive it in your payment on May 20
