A DRIVER had their new car seized after they were stopped by police in High Wycombe for a range of traffic offences.

The car, just collected by the individual, had no rear lights, a faulty handbrake and no insurance.

Traffic officers from Thames Valley Police stopped the motorist at midnight on Sunday, June 16.

In a warning to the public, the force said: "Whatever you do, check your new car is roadworthy and you have insurance before you drive. It's not worth the risk."

Sharing news about the incident online, people praised the officers for their efforts.

Paul Lewis said: "Driving an uninsured car without rear lights at night and then wonder why it is seized? A trip to court heading their way. Well done team, good result."

While Brian Ayshford added: "Well done, keep up the good work."
