Unwanted Feature: English Garden Gets Its Own Waterfall and Rapids During Flash Flooding

Flash flooding in the city of Plymouth, on England’s south coast, on August 27 left one resident’s backyard with its own waterfall and rapids.

Footage captured by Ricky Souch shows the strong flow of water making its way down through his garden. Speaking to local media, Souch said something similar “happens every time we get torrential rain,” with water coming down a nearby hill and into a lane behind his home.

“The drainage there is unable to cope with such large amounts of water so it floods the lane and overflows into the garden,” he told Plymouth Live.
